HD Radio's Best "WHUR World" - 96.3 WHUR HD2

The National Association of Broadcasters recognizes Howard University owned “WHUR World” as a superior HD-2 channel. NAB’s Senior VP of Radio John David says it “has successfully combined non-traditional music, news, community involvement and information into a fresh new variety format that creates a new identity for HD radio.” The music of the Washington, D.C.-based channel encompasses jazz, hip-hop and world music and community based talk shows about finances and domestic violence. WHUR brands itself as “culturally rich” and rooted in “the original WHUR concept of 360 degrees of total blackness.” WHUR World will receive an award at the upcoming NAB Radio Show in Austin.
