Mikaeel Jackson is now a Muslim

Michael Jackson has converted to Islam. He officially converted to Islam at a ceremony in Los Angeles attended by Yousef Islam, the singer formerly known as Cat Stevens, sources say. Michael was allegedly encouraged to convert by his friends Canadian songwriter David Wharnsby and producer Phillilp Bubal. His brother Jermaine, who is Muslim, has long spoken out about Jackson’s interest in the religion. Jackson, is said to have changed his name to Mikaeel and taken the shahada — or made a declaration of belief — as part of his conversion to Islam.

Come on Mike... he converted hours before he was due in court on Friday, where he was being sued by Arab Sheikh Abdulla Al-Kalifa. Jackson was facing allegations of failing to repay nearly $15 million to the Arab sheikh before making a deal.

Can't you hear Mike say, "I'm one of you. We're brothers in Mohammed. Call me Mikaeel. A-salaam A-fake-um my brotha."
