Big Tigger Out at 95.5 WPGC?

The announcement heard on CBS Radio's 95.5 WPGC goes like this: “We are going to free The Big Tigger Morning Show. The management is going to put together a new morning show with you in mind.” Does this tease mean Free will be joining The Big Tigger Morning Show as co-host or does it signal something else?

No official word from WPGC until Monday morning, but any mention of "The Big Tigger Morning Show" is gone from the station's website and so rumors that the show is gone are being tweeted on Twitter. Most of the tweets are coming from listeners who are hearing the weekend "Cannon's Countdown" show with Nick Cannon for the first time on the station and believe he is replacing Big Tig. Reasoning like that would be like hearing Cannon's countdown show on V-103 in Atlanta and think he is replacing "Frank and Wanda in the Morning."

Nick Cannon hosts his own daily morning show on CBS rhythmic contemporary station Now 92.3 in NYC and does a countdown show on many of their urban and top 40 stations across the country. Free sat in for Big Tigger during his recent absence for surgery. She was a one time host with AJ Calloway on BET's 106 & Park and co-host with Ed Lover on Power 105.1.

With the popularity of the social media site Twitter, keeping things buzzing at the rumor stage at this point is probably a good thing for the reportedly low rated morning show. Stay tuned...

  1. I was listening to WPGC this morning and heard this announcement that they were going to "free" the Big Tigger Morning Show. They wished Big Tigger success on his future endeavors and then the part about a show "with you in mind" came on. "We hope you like what you hear."

Wow. Just...wow. Let's see what happens on Monday.
