The Two Live Stews Leave Sporting News Radio

-Radio-Info.com reports the Atlanta-based "Two Live Stews," who originate their national show on sports talk WQXI-AM "790 The Zone", are losing their affiliation with Sporting News Radio. SNR will replace the "Two Live Stews" (brothers Ryan and Doug Stewart) with Sean Pendergast in the 1pm-4pm ET time slot. Pendergast currently hosts a show on Houston's KGOW-AM (1560), the flagship for Sporting News Radio. The radio sports network has reportedly been going through ownership and cost cutting changes.

The Two Live Stews started several years ago at 790 The Zone as late night (in fact lowly paid, one hour a night from 10-11p.m.) hosts and worked their way up to become ratings winners in afternoon drive time in Atlanta. They developed a national following on ESPN2's 1st and Ten. Radio One was first on board to syndicate their afternoon show in 2007 and signed them on to host the show "Black Men Revealed" for two seasons on TV One. When the syndication deal came along with Sporting News Radio in 2008, the duo moved their show to the early afternoon shift of 1-4p.m. That move did not sit well with all the "dogs and poodles" in the ATL who were use to "stewing" in the afternoons right after work.

Here's hoping that 790 The Zone moves "The Stews" back to the 4-7p.m. slot. Their last show for Sporting News Radio is slated for Friday, July 1st.
