Oprah's OWN Network FAIL, Set to Re-Launch Today

After it's January 1st launch; 10 months later the OWN Network cable channel is looking to make changes to spark interest, while most people don't even know what channel it's on

How long will it be before full repeats of the Oprah show appear on the network?

Oprah Winfrey’s next chapter has been anything but easy. While she compared her 25-year-long talk show to “breathing everyday,” this new project has left her breathless. The joint partnership with Discovery Communications to launch a hit cable network under her moniker has so far flat lined. Not only has it been absent from the national conversation, when people are talking about OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network it is with an unflattering narrative: Weak ratings, muddled programming, a potential failure.

Now, with Winfrey at the helm as CEO, Discovery and OWN are gearing up for a relaunch of sorts. Beginning on Monday, the cable leaders will place all their efforts behind its new fall programming lineup, and its two brightest stars. Comedienne Rosie O’Donnell will host a 7PM daily talk show, The Rosie Show, which leads in to Winfrey’s first major contribution to the network, Oprah’s Lifeclass at 8PM. The latter will use select clips from the 4,561 Oprah episodes, along with new footage of Winfrey sharing personal revelations and life lessons.

ABC reportedly accused both journalists of various forms of misconduct to justify the firings.

Nick Cannon has walked away from radio for the moment and has decided to end “Nick Cannon Radio” and “Cannon’s Countdown.” The shows were distributed by Skyview Networks and quietly went away in December. He is reportedly set to make a major media announcement in two weeks. Cannon's move necessitated 94.7 The Block (WXBK-FM New York) to hire Cipha Sounds to host middays.

A woman who is believed to be DJ Akademiks' girlfriend slammed a raw egg into his face and walked off angrily as he was live streaming. That's it. Google it. Perhaps it's something that should have happened long ago.
