Bugsy Named Assistant PD at 98.7 Kiss FM

Emmis Communications the parent company of Urban AC (WRKS) 98.7 KISS FM (New York) has named Fred "Bugsy" Buggs, as its Assistant Program Director. Buggs, a New York City radio legend has worked at all of the current urban FM stations in the Big Apple (WBLS, Hot 97, Power 105.1, as well as 98.7 KISS FM) over his career. He was also the first night host at Philly's heritage station WUSL Power 99. Besides holding down the Assistant PD Chair, Bugsy will continue as producer for The Tom Joyner Morning Show and host Saturday afternoon at the station.

"Bugsy has extensive knowledge about the market and its history. He has been a great example of someone who has a solid history here at Emmis/New York and has done everything from midday jock on Hot 97 to being the TJMS producer," said PD Jay Dixon. "Bugsy is a well-rounded talent in all areas with great leadership skills, is committed to our mission and is the ideal person to solidify the KISS brand."

"I'm humbled," said Buggs. "It's great to be on the management team for Emmis/New York, a place I've called home for quite some time now and where I’ve spent most of my career. I'm looking forward to continued growth opportunities and bigger things to come with my KISS family and am just ready to win and keep the successes going."
