CNN Lifts Roland Martin’s Suspension

Roland Martin, who hosts “Washington Watch” on TV One and is a CNN Contributor, was suspended shortly after Super Bowl Sunday when he wrote tweets that were thought to be homophobic. He apologized, but CNN held fast to their suspension of Martin until it was lifted late last week.

CNN suspended Martin on Feb. 8 over tweets he sent during the Super Bowl that the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation group known as GLAAD said were anti-gay. After the airing of retailer H&M's Super Bowl commercial featuring soccer player David Beckham Martin tweeted, "If a dude at your Super Bowl party is hyped about David Beckham's H&M underwear ad, smack the ish out of him! #superbowl." Martin denied that his tweets were about homosexuals but about crazed soccer fans. Roland Martin is also featured daily with a commentary and interview segment on the nationally syndicated Tom Joyner Morning Show.
