WDAS FM's Quiet Storm Host Tony Brown is on Medical Leave, Hopes to Return Soon

WDAS FM personality Tony Brown is recovering from heart bypass surgery. He hosts The Quiet Storm and the show "Groovin' On a Sunday Afternoon." Tony looks forward to returning to WDAS-FM in the fall.

Tony started at the station in the early 1970's as the late night host with the alter-ego DJ "Anthony Chocolate" with the sound that melts in your ear. He has spent most of his career at 'DAS but briefly moved over to Power 99 (WUSL) in the 1990's to launch The Quiet Storm there. He brought the show's name with him on his return to WDAS. Tony has been a fixture in Philadelphia radio for over 40 years since his college days at Temple University's radio station WRTI. You can wish him well and a speedy recovery at the WDAS FM website via facebook.

Tony Brown updated his status via facebook:

-Thank you to the surgeon, doctors, nurses, and staff at Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP)...They took excellent care of me, and kept (his wife) Sunshine comfortable throughout our stay, as well. They are amazing!

-I am recovering from heart bypass surgery. Thank you for all of your love, support and prayers!! I look forward to returning to WDAS-FM in the Fall. :)
