Power 99's "Eddie F." Named Assistant Program Director at WDAS & WUSL-FM

Fennell Will Also Become Music Director at Both Philly Heritage Stations

Clear Channel Media and Entertainment Philadelphia announced today that Edwin “Eddie F” Fennell has been named Assistant Program Director and Music Director for Power 99 FM WUSL-FM and WDAS-FM, effective immediately.

Fennell began his career at Power 99 FM as an intern in 2001 and proceeded to become an integral part of the station’s operations as producer, part-time on-air personality and assisting in programming and imaging.

He was promoted to Assistant Music Director for Power 99 FM in 2008.  In his new role as Assistant Program Director and Music Director Fennell will oversee all programming for the broadcast and digital operations for 99 FM WUSL-FM and WDAS-FM.  In addition he will continue his role as Imaging Director for Power 99 FM, WDAS FM, and WDAS AM, as well as Imaging Coordinator for Clear Channel Media and Entertainment’s National Programing Platforms team. In addition, Fennell will continue producing and hosting The Streetz Sportz Reportz on Power 99 FM weekdays at 8:00 p.m. EST.

“Eddie has shown tremendous professionalism and a ‘team first’ attitude. For those reasons, amongst many others, he’s earned this new position,” said Derrick Corbett, Director of Urban Programming, Clear Channel Media and Entertainment Philadelphia.

“I can’t describe how thankful and blessed I am for this opportunity,” said Fennell. “For all the people that opened the door for me and shared their knowledge and leadership, I hope I make them proud.”

More news... GMA3 anchors T. J. Holmes and Amy Robach have been fired by ABC after their work affair was deemed a distraction by the network. TMZ, which first reported on their departure, cites network sources who claim they will receive payouts per their contracts. ABC reportedly accused both journalists of various forms of misconduct to justify the firings.

Nick Cannon has walked away from radio for the moment and has decided to end “Nick Cannon Radio” and “Cannon’s Countdown.” The shows were distributed by Skyview Networks and quietly went away in December. He is reportedly set to make a major media announcement in two weeks. Cannon's move necessitated 94.7 The Block (WXBK-FM New York) to hire Cipha Sounds to host middays.

A woman who is believed to be DJ Akademiks' girlfriend slammed a raw egg into his face and walked off angrily as he was live streaming. That's it. Google it. Perhaps it's something that should have happened long ago.
