Jet Magazine Publishes Last Issue After 63 Years

The Iconic Magazine will be only available through a Smart Phone App, The First Issue published in November 1951 cost a nickel to buy

Jet magazine, the digest-size publication that has been a staple among African-American readers for 63 years, will release its final print issue on June 9.

The cover of its final issue features a number of its most famous previous covers. Inside, Jet has created a retrospective of the news covered since 1951.

Johnson Publishing announced last month that Jet, with a circulation of more than 700,000, will transition to a digital-only format. Jet's new app, available for smartphones and tablets, is set to launch June 30.
