The Photo Shoot of The Frank Ski Show on 96.3 WHUR

Frank Ski of 96.3 WHUR posted pictures from his show on Instagram including a photo shoot featuring his co-hosts Mo Ivory and comedian Joe Clair.

Frank Ski was the long time morning host on V-103 in Atlanta until during contract negotiations, he asked his former employer CBS Radio to take the morning show into national syndication. It didn't happen. He left.

Unsure of his next move, Frank Ski participated in The Next Big Voice contest as a favor to management at WHUR in the summer of 2013. Well, as it turns out he won.

So now he relocates during the week to Washington, D.C. to do his show. We're sure Frank Ski has a desire to get back on the air in Atlanta, but as it stands now there is no room on the radio dial in The ATL for him. There's Si-Man Baby and Chubb Rock on Majic 107.5/97.5; Art Terrell and Roy Wood, Jr. on Kiss 104.1 competing for the Urban AC audience. In the wake of the fallout following the cancellation of Michael Baisden, 'The Frank Ski Show' is one of the best options for afternoons on Urban Adult radio. The show is topical, inspirational, and funny with the Joe Clair Cleezy report. We're fans.

However could bigger things for Frank Ski be on the horizon? See below...

Producer Nina Brown and co-host Mo Ivory swoon over Common's recent appearance on the show. We don't even think they played one Common record on the show. He just showed up and talked. They giggled.

Frank Ski still maintains a presence in the Atlanta radio scene along with events at his restaurant.

Frank Ski did his DJ thing on The Steve Harvey Morning Show recently with his show's afternoon mixer DJ Herb. Having Frank Ski make an appearance on Steve Harvey we feel is significant. Frank Ski could be in the running to take over for the Atlanta based Steve Harvey show in 2015... Harvey is slated to leave the show. Who would be the better lead host Frank Ski or Nephew Tommy? (just putting it out there...)

Gayle King and Charles Barkley are finalizing a deal that would have them jointly lead a primetime hour each week on CNN, according to people familiar with the matter and multiple news sources. The pact is not complete and there is always the risk it may not come to fruition, one of these people says. CNN declined to make executives available for comment.

Tavis Smiley owned Los Angeles talk station KBLA Talk 1580 donated $20,000 in scholarship money to the NABJLA and MPJI. Smiley says, “The National Association of Black Journalists of Los Angeles and the Minority Photo-Journalism Institute are making a tangible difference in our community by helping students pursue careers in journalism and communications. KBLA ‘Talk 1580’ strongly believes in enlightening, empowering and encouraging tomorrow’s reporters, editors and potential talk radio hosts. Hopefully, our scholarships make a difference.”

• WLBT anchor and meteorologist Barbie Bassett is no longer with the Jackson, Miss., NBC station after racially insensitive comments. In early March, Bassett was speaking with her fellow anchors on air about Snoop Dogg’s latest business venture, Snoop Cali Blanc, a new wine in his wine label. In response to a comment about putting a Snoop Dogg tattoo on her shoulder, Bassett said, “Fo shizzle, my nizzle.” Bassett is white. Charlamagne tha God defended Bassett as he discussed the situation on The Breakfast Club. “She might be old. She probably has no idea nizzle is a derivative of the N-word. That’s not a fireable offense. I hope she sues.”
