Toshamakia New Midday Host at KS1075

Toshamakia began her Radio career in the music industry in 2002 when she launched her debut single “Be Yourself” in the Connecticut area. Her single was skyrocketing up the charts and was gaining in popularity She began performing & touring with some of the biggest names in the business alongside Angie Martinez (from New York City’s Power 105.1) Toshamakia has also performed on some of the hottest television shows like BET’s 106 & Park, The Carson Daley Show, and the WB Morning Show. She got her start in radio at WZMX-FM in Hartford, CT. Her personality shined, and she was offered a position at the station! Her first fulltime position was in Philadelphia for her very own night show. At the same time she joined Sirius/XM radio with hip-hop icon Monie Love for “The Ladies First Show with DJ Jay Ski.” From there, she became the a Morning Show co-host on 102 Jamz Greensboro’s “Wild Out Wake Up Show.”

Toshamakia is a survivor of domestic violence, bullying, and molestation. She uses her personal story to help empower others by letting them know that they are not alone and are worthy of respect and love. She has also personally assisted many victims in getting out of abusive relationships.

Toshamakia is positive, fun, motivating, edgy, unfiltered, and a voice for teens and women everywhere. She creates trends that many follow and is every girl’s best friend on and off the Radio. Being involved in the community is very important to her. Speaking to the young girls, mentoring them, and showing them the difference between control, love, worth, and most importantly education is huge passion of hers.
