Rickey Smiley’s Stellar Year Continues with Reach Media Radio Syndication Extension

Smiley Agrees to Multi-Year Contract In a Year With Radio Show Growth,
and Recognition as Network/Syndicated Personality of the Year

Reach Media has announced that it has extended The Rickey Smiley Morning Show in a multi-year agreement with the broadcast and digital company. As one of the leading programs in the industry, the Rickey Smiley Morning Show has over 65 affiliates with an 18-49 target audience and broadcasts weekdays from 6a–10a ET. The show offers listeners the daily entertainment, news and information they crave while addressing topics important to the African-American community.

“You know we keep it real every morning,” Smiley said. “So, get ready everybody, I’m going to continue keeping it live with the rest of my crew. Thanks to Reach Media, Radio One and to all my listeners and followers for letting me be a part of your morning routine.”

Urban One’s CEO of Radio One Stations and Reach Media, David Kantor added, “We are delighted to extend our relationship with Rickey Smiley.  He has established himself as a leader and entertaining communicator in his 10 years of syndication. He continues to grow in audience, followers, affiliates, but most importantly, with an affinity with his listeners that's unparalleled.”

Recently, the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) recognized Smiley’s broadcast excellence and awarded him the 2017 Marconi Award for Network/Syndicated Personality of the Year. Smiley brings perspective to contemporary black life and parenthood, focusing on family, community and mentoring. Edgy, quick-paced and anchored by one of the nation’s most popular comedians, The Rickey Smiley Morning Show entertains a wide variety of listeners. The morning show blends Hip-Hop/R&B music, humor and spiritual enlightenment with today’s hottest topics in news, entertainment and sports. Smiley shares his morning show platform with co-hosts Da Brat, Gary Wit Da Tea, Headkrack, Juicy, Rock T and Special K, along with the program’s producers, Hollywood and Beyonce’ Alowishus.

Rickey also engages his radio audience throughout the day, leading them to his website and social media for two-way conversations. Rickey continues to flourish on television with his daily scoop on Dish Nation and reality show, Rickey Smiley For Real, that focuses on his radio career and family. His comedy tours complement affiliates with market visits. Smiley most recently authored his debut book, “Stand By Your Truth...And Then Run For Your Life!” due to be released October 24, 2017.
