FINAL FOR WRNB

Quincy Harris is a host, media personality, brand influencer and public speaker. He’s returning to radio, after blazing trails from coast to coast for 15 years. Quincy’s quick wit and authenticity made him a favorite on the radio waves and opened the door to place him in front of the camera at WTXF Fox 29’s Good Day Philadelphia. After two seasons on the show, Quincy proved to be a breakout star and now hosts his own WTXF Fox television show, The Q, at noon, Monday through Friday. In 2018, Quincy will serve Philadelphia with the latest in local and national headlines, lifestyle trends, music and pop culture from his radio morning show to his afternoon television program. Quincy is a Temple University graduate and member of The National Association of Black Journalist.

D.L. Hughley is one of the most popular and highly recognized standup comedians on the road today that has also made quite an impression in the television, film and radio industries. D.L. created and starred in the satirical documentary special for Comedy Central, “D.L. Hughley: The Endangered List.” which was honored with the George Foster Peabody Award and by the Television Academy. Known for being astute and politically savvy in his true comedic style, D.L. served as host of his own late night talk show on CNN, “D.L. Hughley Breaks the News.” In addition to hosting his own nationally syndicated show, The D.L. Hughley Show, that is now coming to Philadelphia, he’s also a weekly contributor to the nationally syndicated, “Tom Joyner Morning Show.”

More news...On Sunday 107.5 WBLS weekend host LaDawn Black announced she was moving on to a new opportunity and leaving the station. Black made a surprise return to radio this week at her old stomping grounds as a guest host on The AM Clique Morning Show this week on 92Q (WERQ-FM Baltimore). LaDawn hosted the very popular night show 'The Love Zone' until 2013 when she moved over to sister Adult R&B station Magic 95.9 as midday host.

iHeart's Power 99 (WUSL-FM Philadelphia) midday host Cappuchino exits the station. She's been with the station since 2012. 'Way Up with Angela Yee' is now heard on Power 99 as one of the 30 affiliates that carry the syndicated program across the country.

Questlove went to Instagram to celebrate the word “jawn” being recognized as an official word in the Merriam-Webster Dictionary. The dialectic term is native to his hometown. In Philadelphia and Eastern PA, “jawn” evolved as a variant of “joint,” originally denoting a place. “Jawn” has been used to describe almost anything that one need not or cannot give a specific name to. Suddenly jawn has become not cool to use.
