Radio Moves and Media Quick Takes

Deion Sanders is expected to accept the head football coaching job at Colorado following today's SWAC championship game featuring his Jackson State Tigers and Southern University. With that move a number of players are expected to transfer from the HBCU school including his son, quarterback Shedeur. The University of Colorado will reportedly pay Sanders a base salary of $5 million per year.

Roland Martin tweets: If Deion Sanders chooses to take the @CUBuffsFootball head coaching job, be prepared for a lot of social media slander calling him a sellout and turning his back on Black people. And ALL OF IT will be BS.

New R&B and Old School Now Playing on 105.3 in Charlotte

Radio One has adjusted “Old School 105.3” WOSF Charlotte to “Old School R&B,” playing a mix of contemporary R&B music mixed with urban gold titles, the station said in a release. WOSF is now featuring a playlist that includes hits from the ‘80s, ‘90s and 2000s alongside current tracks from today’s hottest R&B acts.

“Our listeners told us they love both Old School and R&B,” VP/GM Doug James said. “We are happy to meet their demands by giving them more of the music they love to go along with the best personalities in the business.”

The “Old School R&B” lineup includes the Reach Media-syndicated Tom Joyner in morning drive, followed by Chirl Girl (10am-3pm) and Eddie Owens (3-7pm). The station is now playing tracks from Prince, Mary J. Blige, Notorious B.I.G., Jodeci, Lauryn Hill, Usher, Fantasia, and Maxwell, along with hits from current R&B chart toppers like Bruno Mars, Toni Braxton, Childish Gambino, Tamia, and Ella Mai.
