Nick Cannon Announces His Morning Team for Power 106

Power 106’s, Nick Cannon Mornings, announced co-hosts and morning DJ today! Joining Nick Cannon Mornings is Melissa Rios, Teddy Mora and DJ Carisma. Nick Cannon Mornings launched on June 17, 2019 with the rest of the team officially joined today.

Melissa Rios is a Los Angeles native from Covina, who is an active, married mother of 3 and a Millennial. Melissa is known for creating original content for on-air, social and mobile. She was previously the morning host at KXOL. “Growing up I remember listening to Power 106, so to be able to say I am a part of this family is surreal! I’m happy, I’m ready, I’m HOME!”

Teddy Mora started his career as a Power 106 intern and an event host for the Power 106 Flava Unit. Teddy was so committed to landing a full time position on Power 106 that he rode on a Greyhound bus for a year hosting weekends on Power 98.3 in Phoenix to increase his exposure and on-air experience, which led him to hosting Saturday nights on Power 106. Teddy said, “I’m thrilled to be working with Nick Cannon, Melissa and Carisma! Entertaining people and having a positive impact in their lives, no matter the platform, has and always will be the goal.”

DJ Carisma returns back home to Power 106. Carisma is a well-respected Celebrity DJ and 3x Female DJ of the Year. She has released hit records with Chris Brown, Tory Lanez, Dej Loaf and more. Carisma said, “I’m excited to be coming back home to Cali’s #1 Hip Hop station, Power 106. I am honored to be working alongside with super star Nick Cannon! Watch out y’all Hip Hop’s Newest Most LIT Morning is HERE and we’re ready to take over! “

Nick Cannon said, “We have a strong team! To have the support system of Teddy, Melissa, and Carisma…people who are authentic to the culture and community is important. One of the things I’m most excited about is to help develop new artists out of LA with Carisma!”

More news... GMA3 anchors T. J. Holmes and Amy Robach have been fired by ABC after their work affair was deemed a distraction by the network. TMZ, which first reported on their departure, cites network sources who claim they will receive payouts per their contracts. ABC reportedly accused both journalists of various forms of misconduct to justify the firings.

Nick Cannon has walked away from radio for the moment and has decided to end “Nick Cannon Radio” and “Cannon’s Countdown.” The shows were distributed by Skyview Networks and quietly went away in December. He is reportedly set to make a major media announcement in two weeks. Cannon's move necessitated 94.7 The Block (WXBK-FM New York) to hire Cipha Sounds to host middays.

A woman who is believed to be DJ Akademiks' girlfriend slammed a raw egg into his face and walked off angrily as he was live streaming. That's it. Google it. Perhaps it's something that should have happened long ago.
