Radio.com Added To Apple Music and Siri with Latest Apple Technology

Entercom, the #1 creator of live, original, local audio content, today announced a collaboration with Apple to integrate its robust portfolio of leading news, sports and music stations into the Apple iOS13 software, launched today as part of Apple’s latest technology update.

“Today marks an exciting new day in audio,” said David Field, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer, Entercom. “We are delighted to partner with Apple to provide listeners with enhanced access to our lineup of many of the country’s leading radio brands and personalities and other rich audio content. By integrating radio directly into their latest technology, Apple sends a clear message about the importance of local radio, the country’s number one reach medium.”

All Apple platforms, including iOS, macOS, tvOS, Windows, watchOS, CarPlay and HomePod will feature direct access to RADIO.COM stations via Siri and Apple Music beginning today.

• WLBT anchor and meteorologist Barbie Bassett is no longer with the Jackson, Miss., NBC station after racially insensitive comments. In early March, Bassett was speaking with her fellow anchors on air about Snoop Dogg’s latest business venture, Snoop Cali Blanc, a new wine in his wine label. In response to a comment about putting a Snoop Dogg tattoo on her shoulder, Bassett said, “Fo shizzle, my nizzle.” Bassett is white. Charlamagne tha God defended Bassett as he discussed the situation on The Breakfast Club. “She might be old. She probably has no idea nizzle is a derivative of the N-word. That’s not a fireable offense. I hope she sues.”
