ESPN Radio 'Golic and Wingo' in the Age of Social Distancing and No LIVE Sports

ESPN Radio shows simulcasts their radio broadcasts on TV on ESPNews. However with the hosts working remotely from home due to the coronavirus outbreak, the network is facing a dilemma. What to show on TV. So far it's been nothing. Well not quite a blank screen.

But very close.

ESPN ran the audio feed to ESPNews with only a Progressive Insurance logo for the simulcast of the “Golic & Wingo” morning show. Mike Golic and Trey Wingo broadcast the show from the basement of Golic’s home.

“The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz” show is also broadcasting remotely with the co-hosts working from separate locations. La Batard and Executive Producer Mike Ryan were at La Batard’s home, while Stugotz linked up from his home. Dan Le Batard’s TV show “Highly Questionable” with his father, affectionately known as Papi, is on hiatus during the coronavirus outbreak.

Meanwhile Sports radio station ‘ESPN Syracuse’ drops it's local midday sports talk programming featuring Syracuse University sports and their takes on the national sports scene. With no lives sports events due to the coronavirus the station is airing the ESPN Radio network shows.

Temporarily pulled from the lineup are “Centers of the Attention,” which features hosts Seth Everett with former Syracuse center Danny Schayes (10-11am); followed by the 11am-12pm slot with Paulie Scibilia, former Syracuse centers Etan Thomas and Roosevelt Bouie. Also sidelined are “Orange Nation,” hosted by Steve Infanti and Seth Goldberg (12-2pm); and “Voice of the Orange” with Matt Park and Brian Higgins (2-3pm).

Check out Etan Thomas (author of "We Matter" and "Fatherhood") speaking with Donnie Simpson on Majic 102.3 and 92.7 at the time of his release of his book in 2018.
