Veda Loca is Back on Radio One Dallas and Majic 94.5

Veteran radio personality Veda Loca returns to the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex airwaves on "Today's R&B and Throwbacks" Majic 94.5 for "Veda Loca's House Party." She is now on the sister station of Hip Hop 97.9 The Beat where she was morning host. Her show was replaced by the syndicated The Morning Hustle in January.

The new show will air Friday and Saturday nights from 6 p.m.-midnight with V-Man and DJ Mo Dave.

"Veda Loca is Urban One Dallas family and has been with us over the last 17 years. She is a big market voice and influencer that is woven into the fabric of Dallas Fort Worth. Veda Loca's House Party is a natural next step for her and an exciting new energized chapter for Majic 94.5," said Urban One Dallas VP/General Manager Tami Honesty.

Veda remarked, “Your gift will make room for you. Not one day did I ever think I wouldn’t be with you again! God has a plan for me bigger than I can see. Meet me at the House Party every Friday and Saturday night from 6pm-12am on Majic 94.5.”

• WLBT anchor and meteorologist Barbie Bassett is no longer with the Jackson, Miss., NBC station after racially insensitive comments. In early March, Bassett was speaking with her fellow anchors on air about Snoop Dogg’s latest business venture, Snoop Cali Blanc, a new wine in his wine label. In response to a comment about putting a Snoop Dogg tattoo on her shoulder, Bassett said, “Fo shizzle, my nizzle.” Bassett is white. Charlamagne tha God defended Bassett as he discussed the situation on The Breakfast Club. “She might be old. She probably has no idea nizzle is a derivative of the N-word. That’s not a fireable offense. I hope she sues.”
