Craig Carton Convicted of Fraud Over Gambling Debts Returns to Sports Radio WFAN Meanwhile Entercom Makes Exclusive Deal with FanDuel

Entercom is welcoming back former morning host Craig Carton to afternoons on New York City's WFAN 101.9 FM and 660 AM The Fan. Carton will go live on November 9 and will be heard alongside co-host Evan Roberts, weekdays from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. ET.

"I am grateful to Entercom for the chance to return home to WFAN," said Carton. "I have dreamt about this moment every minute of every day for the last three years. I know I have work to do to regain the trust of my colleagues, listeners and advertisers and am committed to doing just that. I can't wait to get started with Evan Roberts on November 9th."

Carton went to prison after being convicted of wire and securities fraud. He misappropriated funds he had been given to buy concert tickets to pay off his gambling debts. He owes $4.8 million in restitution according to the New York Post. Carton rejoins WFAN after previously serving as co-host of the station's morning show "Boomer & Carton" from 2007 to 2017.

He was welcomed back with open arms as WFAN The Fan looks to regain the hearts of the New York City afternoon sports listeners that was once held by long time host Mike Francesa, who retired from WFAN. That honor now goes to Michael Kay of 98.7 ESPN Radio, where Rosenberg of Hot 97 and Ebro in the Morning is a co-host.

Here is Carton's announcement on his return to WFAN. Click here.

Carton was the subject of a recent HBO Documentary.

After watching this trailer, you might be thinking, Entercom is risking a lot to bring Carton on board in the world's number one radio market while signing a deal with the sports book company FanDuel. What if he isn't over his gambling addiction.

Co-host Evan Roberts is expected to handle all of the show's gambling advertisement announcements.

The release is below.

On the same day Craig Carton returns to their company, Entercom they sends out the following news release with the sports gambling company:
