Donnie Simpson Talks His Radio Career on the “All The Rage with Shelley Wade” Podcast

Most people familiar with Donnie Simpson from his Video Soul days on BET, did not realize (in his words) that radio was Donnie's "bread and butter" and still is. Some of his stories include Bob Johnson's, founder of BET, acknowledgment that Donnie built the cable network and was the pivotal part in its survival in the early days. He talked about an opportunity to leave Washington, D.C. for New York City and WKTU. The 67 year old Simpson has been on the radio since he was 15 years old except for a self imposed retirement from 2010 to 2015. He's heard every afternoon on WMMJ Majic 102.3/92.7. So he has lots of stories to share.

Shelley Wade, now based in San Diego, was a former on-air personality on top rated Top 40 Pop station New York's Z-100, 97.9 The Box, 104.3 MYfm Los Angeles, and KMYI  Star 94.1-FM San Diego. She is now a voiceover artist who voices The Donnie Simpson Weekend Show.
