Yonni Rude Named Executive Producer of The Morning Hustle


Reach Media Taps Programmer to Produce the Nationally Syndicated Morning Show

Reach Media is pleased to announce Yonni Rude as the Executive Producer of the nationally syndicated morning show, The Morning Hustle.  Rude has been with Radio One since 2016, holding various positions within the Company. His most recent post was as the operations manager of the Cleveland four-station cluster.   

Before joining the Radio One team, Yonni spent three years in Charleston, SC as Program Director / Afternoon Drive host at Cumulus Media’s Top 40 WSSX-FM 95sx Hit Music Now and the previous 12 years as the Assistant Program Director/Afternoon Drive host at Citadel Broadcasting’s Urban Mainstream WWWZ-FM Z93 Jamz.   

“Yonni has always been one of our most active Morning Hustle affiliate PD’s; his creative vision and positive leadership style will be an asset to the team,” said Colby Tyner, VP of Programming.

As Executive Producer, Rude will work with the team to create captivating content.  He will oversee all aspects of the show both on air and digitally. Rude will focus on daily operations while overseeing the entirety of the brand.   He will create, develop, and implement strategies to elevate the show to new heights.

Rude stated, “The Morning Hustle is the next evolution of morning radio and I’m excited to lead the team and help grow the brand. Thanks to Colby Colb, Mitch Henry and David Kantor for the opportunity to lead this amazing team.

More news...On Sunday 107.5 WBLS weekend host LaDawn Black announced she was moving on to a new opportunity and leaving the station. Black made a surprise return to radio this week at her old stomping grounds as a guest host on The AM Clique Morning Show this week on 92Q (WERQ-FM Baltimore). LaDawn hosted the very popular night show 'The Love Zone' until 2013 when she moved over to sister Adult R&B station Magic 95.9 as midday host.

iHeart's Power 99 (WUSL-FM Philadelphia) midday host Cappuchino exits the station. She's been with the station since 2012. 'Way Up with Angela Yee' is now heard on Power 99 as one of the 30 affiliates that carry the syndicated program across the country.

Questlove went to Instagram to celebrate the word “jawn” being recognized as an official word in the Merriam-Webster Dictionary. The dialectic term is native to his hometown. In Philadelphia and Eastern PA, “jawn” evolved as a variant of “joint,” originally denoting a place. “Jawn” has been used to describe almost anything that one need not or cannot give a specific name to. Suddenly jawn has become not cool to use.
