Cathy Hughes Talks Urban One Honors and DMX UNCENSORED Special with The Breakfast Club

Ahead of a special night of programming on TV One, Cathy Hughes sat down with The Breakfast Club. The cable channel will feature a special episode of UNCENSORED featuring the late rapper DMX in his final interview on Sunday, May 16 at 8 p.m. ET/7C. That program will be followed by the annual URBAN ONE HONORS hosted by Erica Campbell and Roland Martin at 9 p.m. ET/8C. Following Sunday's shows TV One will feature UNCENSORED SPECIAL: DMX THE ICON which  will air on Monday, May 17th at 10/9c on TV One.

Below is a brief bio on Cathy Hughes and an interesting story told by Dr. Greg Carr (of Howard University with Sirius XM's Urban View host Karen Hunter) on her relationship with Dr. Betty Shabazz, the wife of Malcolm X. Dr. Shabazz was an unknown stock holder with Inner City Broadcasting in its infancy. The company that launched New York City's 107.5 WBLS in 1971, was formed by attorney Percy Sutton. Hughes connection with not only Dr. Shabazz and the Nation of Islam as a young girl is quite interesting.
