The Joe Clair Morning Show Exits WPGC 95.5

Joe Clair, Poet Taylor, and Guy Lambert of The Joe Clair Morning Show has exited WPGC 95.5 as morning hosts. Joe Clair confirmed the news of his departure from the station on IG on Thursday.

The exit of The Joe Clair Morning Show comes on the heels of the exit of midday host Sunni.

Mornings on WPGC for now are being handled by Todd B Radio. As of now the afternoon show The Home Team DJ Flexx is still in place at WPGC. The station is owned by Audacy, formerly known as Radio.com/Entercom. The company is reportedly making changes to a number of their CHR/Rhythmic/Hip-Hop stations across the country.

Joe Clair, a popular stand up comedian gained national fame as the host of BET's Rap City in the early 2000's. His radio career has included the WPGC Sunday Night Hip-Hop Show with Big Tigger, Hot 97 in New York City, Sirius XM-Foxxhole in Los Angeles, and V-103 in Atlanta. Before being named morning host on WPGC, he co-hosted afternoons with on The Frank Ski Show on 96.3 WHUR.

Poet Taylor joined WPGC as midday host in 2017 and has worked at 92Q in Baltimore and as a TV producer on ABC7; while Guy Lambert has been a fixture at WPGC as a news host with both Donnie Simpson and Big Tigger Morning Shows on WPGC. He will continue as a TV co-host on FOX 5 at night.

It’s unknown at this time what direction WPGC will go to fill the morning slot and if morning show members Guy Lambert and Poet Taylor will remain with the station.

The Big Tigger Morning Show on V-103 in Atlanta could be a possibility for Audacy, Inc. However the company that took over for CBS Radio and Radio.com has followed the philosophy of not syndicating morning shows and embracing the local appeal of its station. Perhaps a format tweak could be on the way as well.

  1. Guy Lambert and Poet Taylor are still with WPGC as of today. Guy is still doing news and publoc affairs and Poet is back in middays.
