Hot 97.3 Toledo Adds “DeDe in the Morning” and DeDe’s Weekend Kickback to the Station's Programming Lineup

Compass Media Networks announces the addition of Glass City Radio WJZE-FM “Hot 97.3” to the “DeDe in the Morning” family from 5AM -10AM weekdays and on Saturday mornings with DeDe’s Weekend Kickback.


“HOT 97.3 is ready for a morning show filled with humor and energy and a host that connects to her audience in a real and meaningful way. We know Toledo is going to fall in love with DeDe in the Morning,” says Mike Mori, Market President, Glass City Radio, Toledo, OH.

#DeDeNation keeps growing and we are super excited to welcome HOT 97.3 to the DeDe in the Morning family,” added DeDe McGuire, host of DeDe in the Morning. “Get Ready Toledo to be part of our fun and laughter.”



Compass Media Networks officially launched DeDe in the Morning in partnership with Service Broadcasting K104 in Dallas TX in July 2018. The show is now heard in over 60 markets including Dallas, Chicago (WPWX JUST ADDED), Milwaukee, Pittsburgh, New Orleans, New Haven, Austin, Oklahoma City, and Toledo.

• WLBT anchor and meteorologist Barbie Bassett is no longer with the Jackson, Miss., NBC station after racially insensitive comments. In early March, Bassett was speaking with her fellow anchors on air about Snoop Dogg’s latest business venture, Snoop Cali Blanc, a new wine in his wine label. In response to a comment about putting a Snoop Dogg tattoo on her shoulder, Bassett said, “Fo shizzle, my nizzle.” Bassett is white. Charlamagne tha God defended Bassett as he discussed the situation on The Breakfast Club. “She might be old. She probably has no idea nizzle is a derivative of the N-word. That’s not a fireable offense. I hope she sues.”
