Is This Just a Coincidence? “Brittany” A Popular Name for TV Meteorologist Weather Anchors Across the Country

It must be just a coincidence. Or the likelihood if your name is Brittany and you're in media studying meteorology rather than news journalism increases your chances of being on air. Who knows? Technically to be a weathercaster getting a degree in meteorology is not required, but it surely increases the credibility factor. Mississippi State University is where these Brittanys, Brittneys, and many weathercasters across the country attended to gain that credibility for television in Broadcast Meteorology. They also add “WX” to their social media profile to make it official.

Here are the Brittanys. There is Brittany Bell of ABC7 New York. NBC10 Philadelphia's Brittney Shipp. Brittany Boyer of 6ABC Philadelphia. Brittany Lockley formerly of the Black News Channel, now with Orlando's Fox35. Memphis features Brittney Bryant of Action News 5 and Brittani DuBose of Fox13.

Crazy right? Wonder if any of them know each other from MSU? There are probably others. Drop a comment if we missed one.
