Wild 94.9 Radio Host ‘JV' Jeffrey Vandergrift Found Dead in San Francisco Bay

Wild 94.9 radio host Jeffrey Vandergrift, widely known as "JV," was found dead Wednesday after going missing last month. Vandergrift's body was found Wednesday afternoon in the water near Pier 39 in San Francisco, officials said. Authorities did not immediately find evidence of foul play.

Vandergrift hosted “The JV Show” at Wild 94.9 since 2009. He had previously co-hosted “The Doghouse” with Dan ‘Elvis Medina’ Lay from 1995 to 2005. Vandergrift had previously shared on social media his personal health struggles dating back to 2021. He was eventually diagnosed with Lyme disease.

He had spoken publicly about the effects the disease has had on his body, suffering continued ailments like "brain fog," dizziness, migraines and blurred vision.

Last week, prior to the discovery of JV's body, Wild 94.9 had launched a week long celebration of his life.
