WDAS Patty Jackson Inducted into Philadelphia Music Alliance Walk of Fame

WDAS-FM 105.3 radio personality Patty Jackson was inducted into the Philadelphia Music Alliance Walk of Fame on Thursday in ceremonies that took place in Center City Philadelphia on Broad Street also known as The Avenue of the Arts. The Philadelphia Music Alliance is a community-based not-for-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and promotion of Philadelphia's rich musical legacy that recognizes mainly musicians.

Jackson is the first female radio personality to receive such recognition. Jackson's bronze plaque is embedded in the sidewalk near Broad and Pine in much the same way the stars are on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The inductees to the Philadelphia Music Alliance Walk of Fame all have a connection to Philadelphia in some way. Previous inductees from the music world have included Jill Scott, Teddy Pendergrass, Dizzy Gillespie, John Coltrane, Marian Anderson, Dick Clark, and Philly International Records founders Kenny Gamble & Leon Huff. This year's night gala following the daytime ceremonies included a tribute to the P.I. Records founders along with legendary songwriter Thom Bell

More on Patty Jackson including her appearance on the Good Day Philadelphia program and a report from the ceremony which included inductees actors Kevin Bacon and Leslie Odom, Jr.
