THE BULLITTS ”SUPERCOOL” VIDEO 4th March 2012
The Bullitts burst onto the scene with debut single, the rock tinged, ‘80s sounding Supercool. With its Stranglers overtones and staccato vocal, it is the kind of intelligent, sample free pop which defines the innovative group.
A sure-fire smash, the track was used by Ozwald Boateng to close London Fashion Week.
Hollywood royalty Rosario Dawson [Sin City, Men In Black II, Seven Pounds] stars in the Supercool video alongside The Bullitts’ frontman, Jeymes Samuel, dressed as a tramp. Filmed in London’s west-end, the video has caused a stir as the glamorous actress loses her inhibitions and dances to the evocative track while bemused passers-by stop to watch.
“Provocative, highly imaginative and utterly individual” are just some of the words used to describe the band. Their upcoming album They Die Before Dawn and Other Short Stories, due later in 2012, already has industry ears pricking up and includes collaborations with an incredible line up, such as Tori Amos, Roisin Murphy, Jay Electronica, Idris Elba and Mos Def as well as it’s superstar narrator. Idris Elba, sometime member of the group who has been performing with The Bullitts, represented for the UK at this year’s Golden Globes by scooping Best Performance by an actor in a Mini Series for his role as Luther.
