Radio Moves and Media Quick Takes

Eight days after news of the affair between GMA3 hosts Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes broke, Robach gave (UK's) DailyMail.com an update on their relationship: 'It's kind of over now.' Robach will reportedly return to the show next week, but Holmes has been suspended 'indefinitely' from the show as ABC management launches an investigation into his affairs with other staff members...

Jim Stewart, co-founder of Stax Records in Memphis, dies at age 92. During an era of racial strife, white musicians and producers worked alongside Black singers, songwriters and instrumentalists to create the “Memphis sound” embodied by Otis Redding, Isaac Hayes, Booker T. and the M.G.s, Carla and Rufus Thomas, The Staple Singers, Wilson Pickett, Sam & Dave, The Bar-Kays and many others...

The Breakfast Club on Power 105.1 - Gets Love from Radio One and Launches LIVE Web Stream

The Breakfast Club members Angela Yee and DJ Envy played a practical joke on Charlamagne during their Breakfast in Bed live broadcast with Trey Songz. The bit has been picked up nationally in the blogs. Check out the video on the side column.

Yesterday it was posted on KYS in DC, 100.3 The Beat in Philly and probably some other places owned by Radio One too, but now they have been deleted. The links are at the end of this post. We are sure upper management had a problem with the content simply because Charlamagne was fired from Radio One station 100.3 The Beat in 2009 and they are promoting another radio station even though there aren't any Radio One stations in New York. We can only imagine the phone calls that were made on this one!

Like Radio One, we love The Breakfast Club on Power 105.1 too. They have come into their own, have created great chemistry among the crew, and are building a following. We love the fact that they are forerunners into bringing content to the internet. Other radio stations need to follow their lead. We also hope that Clear Channel keeps the show local and not be tempted to take it into radio syndication. Force those that want to hear it to get an I HEART RADIO app or listen to the online stream. That's syndication in this decade.

Today The Breakfast Club has launched a LIVE Webstream after the show called "After The Club." Watch it here. We will also share the stream on our LIVE MEDIA page. Keep it going strong Power 105.1 and The Breakfast Club.

Below are Radio One's "Sorry, Nothing Found links" ...but to their credit or oversight, which ever it may be, it still appears on The Urban Daily website.
